The "Hardware Design for Software People" Seminars are offered in
three different versions: one-day, two-day and three-day classes.
The one-day class is an introduction to hardware design using the
Hardware Description Languages (HDL's) and to the main electronic hardware
technologies. It is an overview of Verilog, VHDL, SystemC, Matlab,
ASIC's and FPGA's. The morning session is lecture and the afternoon
session is a computer lab where the student can choose design simulation
with the HDL of his/her choice or FPGA design and programming.
This class is ideal for a manager who wants to understand more
about modern integrated circuit design.
The price for the one-day class is $400.
The two-day and three-day classes offer more in-depth information
and computer lab sessions. The first day of these classes is the
same as the one-day class.
These classes are intended for the engineer who is following a technical career path.
The price for the two-day class is $700.
The price for the three-day class is $900.
Students can choose to purchase an FPGA development system
consisting of a Xilinx FPGA board and Xilinx ISE Design Software for an addtional $100.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops in order to load design software
for future use.
